Old Courthouse, Fremantle WA - ACO StormBrixx® Project
Designed by the Public Works Department, the original courthouse was built in 1899. The building was closed down between 1999 and 2013, then listed by the State Heritage Department before being totally redeveloped with a modern pavilion and garden space.
Project Design Brief
The site was purchased by a developer with the intention to transform it into a hotel, restaurant and retail hub. A strong, easy to maintain underground tank was required to store and infiltrate stormwater runoff into the underlying water table. This would act to solve an existing flooding problem on the precinct.
ACO's Solution
